Time — Your Most Precious Resource
CA students juggle multiple commitments: classes, self-study, articleship (at Inter/Final level), revision, and Exams. Without effective time management, even the brightest students struggle.
Principles of CA Time Management
1. Block Your Priorities
- Classes and coaching: Non-negotiable
- Self-study: Minimum 4-5 hours daily
- Revision: Build into weekly schedule
- Exams: At least 2 per week in exam term
2. Use the 80/20 Rule
Focus 80% effort on 20% of topics that carry most weight. Identify high-mark areas in each paper.
3. Peak Hours for Tough Topics
Study accounting and mathematics when you're most alert. Save reading (law, economics) for lower-energy periods.
4. Batch Similar Tasks
Group doubt-clearing, group revision sessions. Reduces context-switching.
Sample Daily Schedule (CA Inter with Articleship)
- - 6:00–8:00 AM: Self-study (tough subject)
- - 9:00 AM–5:00 PM: Articleship
- - 6:00–8:00 PM: Classes or recorded lecture
- - 8:30–10:00 PM: Revision and practice
During Exam Leave
- - Morning: Full-length paper or timed practice
- - Afternoon: Analysis and weak area focus
- - Evening: Revision of next day's paper
